Nurse Navigation Program offered at City of Spokane Fire Department
The Nurse Navigation Program gets you to the right level of care, which may or may not include transportation to a hospital emergency department. 911 calls with non-emergency injuries or illnesses may be transferred to a Nurse Navigator who can assess your symptoms and refer you to the most appropriate medical care. This care could include referral to a local clinic or urgent care.
Provides City of Spokane residents with a variety of options for quickly reaching the appropriate level of medical care when calling 911. Based on the description of your symptoms, you may be transferred to a Nurse Navigator who will work with you to determine an appropriate path for treatment and assist in coordinating that care.
Seniors EyeCare Program offered at EyeCare America
Provides referrals to free eye exams to adults, 65 and older, who have not had an exam in three years. Volunteer ophthalmologists accept Medicare and/or other insurance as payment in full. No fees for clients who are not covered.
Provides information and referral for medical eye care to older adults nationwide.
Promotes annual, dilated eye exams.
Raises awareness about age-related eye disease, including cataracts.
Provides free eye care educational materials and facilitates access to eye care.
People eligible for a referral through the program receive a comprehensive, medical eye exam and up to one year of care at no out-of-pocket cost for any disease diagnosed during the initial exam.
MS Navigator offered by National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Greater Northwest Chapter
Provides navigation help to people living with multiple sclerosis and their families. Coordinates social, economic and community resources to enhance the access to quality of care and supports available to people with MS.
Provides a comprehensive assessment of individuals facing multiple challenges and assists in coordinating social, economic and community resources related to their health status, emotional well-being or financial situation, including helping them navigate:

Renton RFA partners with Puget Sound RFA to offer the Fire Department Community Assistance, Referrals and Education Services (FD CARES) program, a fire agency-based community injury and illness prevention program. FD CARES has been developed so that fire departments may assist community members with issues before an issue becomes an emergency.
