Through volunteers trained by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, individuals receive one-on-one consultation on Medicare, including advocacy on their behalf with Medicare providers, explanations of billing received, and referral to other appropriate services. SHIBA staff and volunteers conduct numerous clinics throughout O3A’s service region regarding Medicare.

Healthy Ages (Wellness Program) offered by Kadlec Regional Medical Center at Healthplex
Provides community services for adults over 50 by offering health education, social activities, information and referral, monthly wellness program, and assistance with insurance or Medicare questions.

Nutrition Counseling: provides nutritional counseling for all ages in the following areas: weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and pre-diabetes, hypertension, eating disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney disease, hypoglycemia, cancer, prenatal nutrition, malnutrition, and gluten intolerance/celiac disease.
Offers a workshop that teaches practical skills for living a healthy life for participants with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and asthma.
Living Well Chronic Disease Self- Management Workshop: the workshop is designed to help people learn to manage their chronic disease and improve the quality of their lives. Family members, friends, and caregivers can also participate. By participating in the six week workshop, people increase their confidence and motivation needed to manage the challenges of living with a chronic health condition.
Senior Information and Assistance offered at Kitsap County Division of Aging and Long-Term Care
Provides individuals 60 years of age and older information, referrals, and client advocacy.
Provides a variety of no cost resource information for people age 60+ and their family caregivers including counseling, memory screening, dementia consultation, fall prevention programs, meals on wheels, legal information such as power of attorney forms, telephone reassurance calls, energy assistance programs, and information about other existing community resources including light medical equipment loan programs in the community. This service also includes DSHS application assistance for programs such as SNAP/food benefits, Medicare Savings Programs, and state of Washington (DSHS) Long Term Care services (COPES, CFC, MAC, TSOA). Adults of any age, who are helping an adult in Kitsap County can also be connected to the Family Caregiver Support Program which provides customized support to help reduce caregiver stress and burnout.

Rural Resources helps older adults remain as independent and self sufficient as possible through programs including:Information and assistance, Case management, Respite care, and Family Caregiver Support.

Impartial information for seniors and people on disability regarding medical insurance options provided by individual counseling.
Provides information on Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare supplements and Part D plans for seniors and individuals on disability via volunteers who are trained by the WA State Office of Insurance Commissioner.
Each volunteer has a training plan, and is mentored by a "buddy" volunteer until he/she is ready to work independently.
