Healthy Ages (Wellness Program) offered by Kadlec Regional Medical Center at Healthplex
Provides community services for adults over 50 by offering health education, social activities, information and referral, monthly wellness program, and assistance with insurance or Medicare questions. Nutrition Counseling: provides nutritional counseling for all ages in the following areas: weight management, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and pre-diabetes, hypertension, eating disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney disease, hypoglycemia, cancer, prenatal nutrition, malnutrition, and gluten intolerance/celiac disease. Offers a workshop that teaches practical skills for living a healthy life for participants with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and asthma. Living Well Chronic Disease Self- Management Workshop: the workshop is designed to help people learn to manage their chronic disease and improve the quality of their lives. Family members, friends, and caregivers can also participate. By participating in the six week workshop, people increase their confidence and motivation needed to manage the challenges of living with a chronic health condition.
