Probation: Attempts to re-integrate municipal court defendants (those convicted of misdemeanors such as shoplifting, assault, harassment and DUI charges) back into the community through diagnostic evaluation and placement in counseling, alcohol/drug treatment, hospitalization or other appropriate community programs.
Pre-trial Diversion: Under the criminal code for the city of Seattle, selected non-violent criminal charges may be eligible for pre-trial diversion.
Personal Recognizance Screening: Conducts in-custody interviews with any person booked on Seattle Municipal Court charges and not bailed out of jail by bond or bail. The interview is used to ascertain eligibility for personal recognizance release (dependent on the person's ties in the community).
