Court Services offered at Federal Way Municipal Court
Municipal court is a court of limited jurisdiction. The judge is authorized by Washington state statute to preside over the following types of cases: - Civil and traffic infractions - Criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors - Civil vehicle impound hearings. The court schedules arraignments, pre-trial hearings, non-jury and jury trials, sentencing, and reviews. The court provides related services including legal representation for indigent persons, work crew and probation supervision, and public defense screener services. The court does not hear small claims cases, change names, or issue passports or marriage licenses. Offers a relicensing program. Contracts with the Dispute Resolution Center of King County to allow low-cost mediations to take place at the courthouse.

A drop box is located in the parking lot. Persons may drop off payments and/or hearing requests. Include your name and case number on all documents. Do not pay by cash.
