The Resource Access Team is a multifunctional customer service team within the Department of Community and Human Services that will serve as a centralized information and resource referral system, making it easier for residents of King County to access the services they need. The Resource Access Team aims to help residents connect to resources, navigate services, or bridge short-term financial gaps. The Resource Access Team may provide financial assistance to King County residents to help them gain or retain employment, support educational goals leading to employment, or meet basic needs, including but not limited to food, healthcare, shelter, childcare, transportation and safety. Resource Access Financial Assistance is intended for emergent or one-time situations and not intended for recurrent or regular needs. The Resource Access Team does not provide rental assistance.

This program helps workers who have lost their jobs (due to a Reduction In Force (RIF), layoff or closure) to re-enter the workforce through services such as: Professional assistance with job search; Financial assistance for out of area job interviews; Financial assistance for out of area relocation expenses for a new job; Opportunities to build new skills through training which can include, On-the-Job Training or Apprenticeships.

Offers workforce training programs in the following areas of focus: - Aerospace & Aviation, - Automotive & Trades, - Advanced Manufacturing, - Business & Personal Services, - Health & Human Development, - Nursing, - Science, - Technology, - Engineering and Design, - High School completion, - Pre-college and transitional studies, - professional development and continuing education. Programs range from short-term certificates to bachelor's degrees. Many programs are financial aid eligible and other workforce and scholarship options may be available. The main campus in Lakewood also offers a range of supports and services for current students such as bus passes, food pantry, tutoring, computer labs, events and activities, etc. Students must be enrolled and attending to access services.

Seattle Central offers a variety of programs that help you get the training you need for the career you want. If you are enrolled or interested in enrolling in one of these programs, you may be eligible for funding and resources to help meet your career goals. Our Workforce Services programs provide required tuition, fees, books and transportation. Academic planning and job placement assistance is also available to qualifying students. Helps workers who have lost jobs, through no fault of their own, to gain access to federal and state programs for retraining and re-employment. Provides skill and employment assessments that help job seekers in knowing what their skills are and which types of jobs they can potentially qualify for. Veteran Services: Provides job placement assistance, on-the-job training opportunities, and limited job-skills training. Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) maintain contacts outside the office with businesses in the community to do special job development and maintain relationships with veteran service agencies and organizations.

Helps students to enter or reenter the workforce through career training, financial aid assistance, job placement assistance and academic planning. Those eligible receive funding for tuition and fees and may also be eligible for help with textbooks, required supplies, a student ID card and a parking permit or ORCA transit pass. Programs provide required tuition, fees, books and transportation. Academic planning and job placement assistance is also available to qualifying students. Aims to help veterans transition from military life to a successful civilian life.   Partners with a vast network of outside agencies to provide a comprehensive program catered to the individual and his/her family.   Services include:  - job placement service and employer networking opportunities,    - skills training including resume writing skills,    - career testing that helps narrow down interests to find a most suitable occupation,  - military to civilian transition mentoring services,    - job retention program,    - agency referral,    - individual and family counseling,    - whole family financial strengthening training including financial education and housing counseling,    - family services including career placement help, counseling, motivation and confidence to find work.   Offers employers who hire veterans services like free placement and screening services, employee job match, qualified applicants and tax incentives for hiring veterans.    Will also meet at the Lacey Veteran's Hub by appointment.

Offers professional, career and technical training to students who wish to improve basic skills, build on existing professional abilities, or change careers. Focus is on students learning quickly while mastering the skills of their chosen discipline. Child care is available to students. Evening classes may be available.   Offers programs in the areas of bachelor and transfer degrees, applied design, business and service, computer/information technology, energy and technology, culinary arts, health science, manufacturing and transpiration technology.    Job Skills Improvement Classes: Classes are offered to improve the job skills of persons employed in an occupation who wish to broaden their knowledge or upgrade their skills.  Transfer Programs: Students may complete certain programs to transfer to several universities in the area.
