Assists in need veterans and their families by providing financial cash grants. Grants are to be used for needs such as: food, rent, utilities, transportation, medical expenses, burial/cremation, home/appliance/auto repairs, and clothing.
Washington State law and the Kitsap County code have established the Veterans Assistance Fund as a steady source of tax dollars to be utilized for the needs of indigent veterans and their families. A portion of property tax collected in Kitsap County is earmarked for the VAF. The overall goal is to assist all veterans-in-the-need back into mainstream society by ensuring they understand all the programs available to them. Temporary emergency assistance is available for: Rental and mortgage assistance Energy or utilities assistance Food assistance Transportation assistance Medical and prescription coverage Burial or cremation assistance Auto repair Appliance repair Clothing

Advocates are available to help connect individuals to community resources. Offers limited financial assistance in obtaining ID, storage fees, utility and phone bills, and rental applications. Also, provides outdoor gear when available. No overnight shelter or rental assistance.

Utilities: Provides a consumer help line, online chat, and website for questions, comments or complaints for privately owned utilities serving the public.
Utilities include land line telephones, power, water, solid waste and natural gas suppliers, but not internet service.
Regulates Puget Sound Energy, Avista, Pacific Power, Northwest Natural Gas and Cascade Natural Gas.
Can assist with billing disputes, service issues, disconnect notices, deposit requirements, and provide contact information for financial assistance agencies.
May be able to help customers restore service by negotiating a payment plan with the utility company.
Moving Companies: Regulates in-state residential movers.
Provides a list of licensed movers, and can confirm whether a mover has a permit.
A mover with a UTC permit must comply with state safety, insurance and service standards.
They must perform their services at reasonable rates and within a reasonable time.
They are required to provide a free written estimate of the probable cost of the move, make an inventory list of property and assume some level of liability for loss or damage to belongings during a move.
Also regulates private ferries and radioactive waste disposal.

Worker center where day laborers can be hired for projects such as yard work, moving assistance such as furniture placement, packing and loading (does not provide transportation), cleaning, painting, construction, etc.
Operates a Worker Center where day laborers can be hired for projects such as yard work, moving, cleaning, painting, construction, etc. Day laborers are people of all trades and experiences. Voz has a bilingual dispatch team that ensures that workers are prepared and qualified for the job. Anyone who hires workers through the Worker Center is considered their employer, and must provide all the tools and materials necessary for the job.

Offers skilled dependable workers trained in many fields including yard work, landscaping, construction, catering, housecleaning, packing and limited moving. Hourly wage starts at $30 per hour with a half day minimum.
Offers skilled dependable workers trained in many fields including the following:
- Basic yard work
- Advanced gardening
- Landscaping
- Construction (dry walling, carpentry, painting, hauling, digging, brick masonry, tiling, demolition)
- Event/party help
- Housecleaning (general, move-in/move-out, deep cleaning)
- Moving (assistance is limited to packing, loading and unloading)
The workers are not contractors.
Casa Latina workers do not provide moving trucks nor can they transport from one location to next. Client will need to provide all tools, materials, and safety equipment for the workers employed.
All Casa Latina workers have received Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training on health and safety in the work place and have their own personal protective equipment including work boots, rubberized cotton gloves, safety glasses, dust mask, and ear plugs.
Workers required to lift 50 to 100 lbs. have passed a strength and agility test.
All workers are screened in the national and King County sex offender registries.
