Basic Digital Skills Course offered at Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region
Offers a vocational training program to prepare students for employment in high-tech office environments or go to post-secondary education. Provides small student-to-instructor ratios and a professional staff, this 40 hour class is tailored to student needs and career goals.
Designed for those who are new to using computers or need a refresher to gain skills necessary to find a job, take online training courses, or work towards a promotion. In this class, participants will learn:

- Using email
- Using Microsoft Windows 10
- Introduction to Microsoft Word
- Information literacy
- Typing skills

Youth Programs offered by Gay City: Seattle's LGBTQ Center
Facilitates a group that meets regularly to discuss issues affecting queer youth and health-related topics for youth and young adults ages 14-20.
Since 1999, Gay City has promoted substance use prevention that supports the development and self-determination of LGBTQ+ youth. We serve as a King County Safe Place for youth, and connect youth to safe and health-focused resources they seek.
Gay City also offers two youth engagement programs: Youth Advisory Council (YAC) and Youth Advocacy Media (YAM):
YAC is a group of LGBTQ youth (ages 12-20) that supports the development and implementation of effective marijuana/vaping prevention strategies.
YAM is a group of LGBTQ youth (ages 12-20) from across the Greater Seattle Area that raise awareness about LGBTQ+ concerns by promoting affirming prevention messages through various media channels.

This includes setting up an email account, learning where to apply online, completing an online application, converting a resume to text only, posting a resume online and learning about career exploration tools. Basic computer skills are required.
- Beginning Internet: Teaches how to use the Internet for job search purposes. No computer experience necessary, however Keyboarding and Mouse class highly encouraged as a prerequisite.
- Beginning PC Skills: Computer tutorial to help gain speed and confidence on a computer. Will teach how to manipulate a computer and create a document, as well as how to improve typing speed. All levels are welcome.
- Mock Interview: Teaches valuable interviewing tips and provides the opportunity to practice frequently in a supportive and realistic environment.
- Resume Critique: Provides resume critique and assistance from an employment specialist. Must have an electronic version of your resume, either on a flash drive or within/attached to an email. Must have two job descriptions of jobs you wish to apply to. Limit 8 people per workshop.
- Resume & Cover Letters: Teaches how to write a compelling cover letter and resume. Basic computer skills and/or typing experience preferred.
- Women's Worth & Rights in the Workplace: Provides tips and tools for effectively evaluating your worth and negotiation power. Will also cover local, state and federal labor standards and what to do when your rights at work are violated.
- Interview Skills: Practice responding to typical interview questions and begin the necessary preparation to ace a job interview.
