Provides a consultation service for children with complex care needs, including unknown or complex diagnoses, seeing multiple providers, current or future care decisions, support for the family.

Offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care services, including diagnosis and treatment. Inpatient services include obstetrics and rehabilitative services.   Outpatient primary medical services include diagnosis and treatment, family medicine, geriatrics, pediatric care, immunizations, minor surgery, individual and family counseling (for patients), nursing care, a sleep laboratory, urgent care and public education.   The Swedish Heart and Vascular Institute and the Swedish Neuroscience Institute are located at the Cherry Hill Campus.   Heart and Vascular Institute offers advanced cardiovascular care, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The Neuroscience Institute provides diagnostics, medical and surgical treatments and  rehabilitation resources in most neurological fields, including brain tumors, carotid artery stenosis, child neurology, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders and stroke.   Palliative care helps patients and their families deal with physical, social, emotional and spiritual dimensions of death and dying.   Offers discharge planning which includes coordinating home care with other community resources and securing alternate living situations, as needed.

Provides consultation to people with a progressive, life-limiting condition.   These services may include consultations about symptom management, medical decision making, advance directives, end of life issues and home care services options.   Assists with uncertainty regarding prognosis and goals of care. Palliative Care staff, including social workers, nurses and physicians, work with the patient, the family and the patient’s professional health care providers to evaluate treatment options, identify support systems and assist with care coordination between the multiple disciplines serving the patient.

Ashley House provides compassionate care for medically fragile and technology-dependent children. Nursing, personal care and social services are provided in small group home settings. Ashley House provides a "home away from home" environment for the children and their families while delivering complex medical care and family support. Children and families receive services individualized to meet their needs. Ashley House provides or arranges for: -  Twenty-four hour nursing care in a home-like setting. All care and treatment is under a doctor’s orders. -  Social work services and family support. -  Transportation to and from Doctor’s appointments. -  Training for the family so the family will be able to provide medical care for their child at home. -  Discharge planning to continue progressive recovery and transition to home. -  Physical, occupational and speech therapy to fit the unique needs of the child. -  Counseling for the child and family as needed. -  Education services through the school districts. Home health is a program for those who need nursing care, rehabilitation or therapy at home. The Home Health team of registered or licensed nurses; home care aides; and occupational, speech or physical therapists work closely with your physician. For more information, call 509-574-3606. The Home Health team Registered/licensed nurses provide direct, skilled nursing care according to the plan of care developed with the patient's physician. Home care aides assist with personal care, such as bathing, grooming and routine exercises. Occupational therapists instruct patients in techniques to relearn the tasks of daily living, such as dressing, cooking, eating and bathing, as well as energy conservation and use of assistive devices. Physical therapists assist with the patient's improvement of mobility, fall prevention and safety, ultimately reducing pain and helping the patient regain his or her maximum use of physical skills while recovering from an illness, injury or disability. Speech therapists assist patients in improving communication challenges, such as difficulty understanding other people, redeveloping the ability to speak clearly or at all, and literacy-related issues. The speech therapist may also help with difficulties in eating or swallowing. Social workers assist with community referrals, caregiver issues and financial concerns. They can also assist with connecting patients to an emergency response using a system that provides patient safety and security via phone technology. Offers a home-based program that provides palliative care, which is relief from the pain, symptoms and stress of serious illness. A team of social workers, a registered nurse and specially trained volunteers can - Discuss feelings related to a new diagnosis or changes in the course of the illness - Manage pain or other symptoms - Find help with day-to-day needs as well as emotional and spiritual support - Identify what’s most important and what kind of information is needed to make decisions - Plan for expected changes as the illness progresses Does not provide “hands on” care, but can help locate those services, if needed.
