Palliative Care Program offered by Providence Hospice of Seattle
Offers a home-based program that provides palliative care, which is relief from the pain, symptoms and stress of serious illness. A team of social workers, a registered nurse and specially trained volunteers can - Discuss feelings related to a new diagnosis or changes in the course of the illness - Manage pain or other symptoms - Find help with day-to-day needs as well as emotional and spiritual support - Identify what’s most important and what kind of information is needed to make decisions - Plan for expected changes as the illness progresses Does not provide “hands on” care, but can help locate those services, if needed.

Eligibility
Adults ages 18 and older with a progressing illness, with a limited prognosis in King County. Clients may request a one-time consult or services on an ongoing basis. People receiving services such as respite, COPES and/or home health are also eligible.

Offers hospice care and palliative care to children and adults with life-limiting illnesses. Care is provided in the client's home or place of residence. Coordinates grief support groups for children and adults. Also holds a grief support group for those with a developmental disability. Offers a summer camp for children affected by the death of a loved one.
