Provides emergency assistance with food, rent and utilities to qualified, low-income veterans and family members. Funding for rental and utility assistance is typically available at the beginning of the month. Limited assistance with medical/dental and other miscellaneous services is also available on an emergency need basis. Helps a veteran with their prescriptions once a year. Also provides burial assistance for a veteran, their spouse, or a dependent child under the age of 18. Service Officers available by appointment to help veterans submit disability/benefit claims. Help is provided once a year for two years, then the veteran has to wait a year before they can get help again (ex: a veteran got help in 2020 and 2021, had to wait out 2022 then could get help again in 2023).

Offers emergency assistance with prescriptions, Washington state ID or Driver's License expenses, birth certificate replacement fees, and bus tokens. Nurse, Behavioral Health Specialist and Case Managers provide street outreach services to identify and work with unhoused residents needing services and relief from the streets.

These services include housing assistance through the Kitsap County Housing and Essential Needs Program, which provides rental assistance, security deposits, and essential needs like hygiene items. The Kitsap Division of Aging and Long Term Care offers resources for older adults and adults with disabilities. The Housing Solutions Center provides housing assistance, including shelters and rental aid. NAMI Kitsap offers mental health support groups, while Peninsula Community Health Services provides dental care on a sliding scale. Additionally, Soundworks Job Center helps low-income and homeless individuals, as well as veterans, find employment.

Provides temporary financial assistance to veterans and their families in the event of severe financial difficulties.  Items payable by vouchers are food and sundries, rent, utilities, medical, transportation (bus), and vehicle gas.  Other items are payable at the discretion of the program coordinator.

Provides support in the areas of employment, home stability, personal identity document search/procurement and problem solving. Household Support Provides limited financial assistance with utilities, screening fees for apartment searches and very limited rental assistance on a case-by-case basis. Employment Offers assistance related to getting or retaining employment. This includes work gear and clothing; licensing and certifications; and/or transportation assistance until the client can secure some income from employment and is more stable and able to address basic costs of living. Identification Documents Helps with the costs of procuring a WA State ID. Also helps with a WA Driver's License if the client has a vehicle that is insured, registered, and used for employment. Helps secure and pay for supportive documentation in order to get a state ID. May also help with immigration paperwork fees as needed, and in partnership with other immigration agencies. Physical Wellness Assists with medication co-pays, reasonable dental and optical fees. Overall program goal is to help clients achieve overall stability in the community and to reach achievable self sufficiency.

Helps find options for paying unexpected medical bills, and assists with filling out necessary applications.  One-time emergency assistance to help pay for a prescription.  May also help find low-cost prescription medication programs for those with ongoing/long-term medication needs.

ONLY serves Cheney School District excluding Airway Heights.
