Young Adult Housing Program (YAHP) offered at Catholic Charities Serving Central WA on D Street
Offers a homeless prevention program for youth between the ages of 18-24 who are currently experiencing homelessness, or are at risk of being homeless in the city of Yakima.
Offers a rapid re-housing and homeless prevention program for youth and in the process will help develop a living plan and goals to live independently. Youth will be supported intensely in gaining skills in all life domains, including: housing, education, employment, relational development, and financial literacy. Provides subsidy-based housing on a graduated rent subsidy model in which the young adult will have responsibility in paying a portion of their rent.
YAHP is a scattered site program, and youth will be given help in locating and securing appropriate housing and entering into appropriate lease agreements. One of the main goals is for youth to be self-sufficient and independent; therefore, youth will be engaged in a very intensive, person-centered planning process in securing housing and learning skills.

Offers aid to prevent or end homelessness as determined to fit the needs of the applicant.

Diversion collaborates with households to help them avoid or resolve homelessness.
Short-term program to help divert clients from entering intensive programs like Coordinated Entry. Services are to exit people out of homelessness or prevent them from becoming unhoused. Problem-solving services offered and on occasion, one-time financial assistance to households that can utilized their own resources to sustain housing.
