The Veterans Relief Fund may be able to help veterans or qualifying family members with a variety of needs including rent, utilities and food. Those applying must have been honorably discharged, have been a resident of Grays Harbor County for at least 6 months and have income below 200% of the federal poverty level. Assists with needs of traveling active-duty and retired armed services personnel and their dependents, by offering a place for rest and relaxation.
Provides food, sleeping bunks, showers and/or hygiene supplies; a nursery with toys and infant supplies; and/or a lounge with television, video games, library and Internet access. Occasionally provides financial assistance, to traveling military personnel only.
USO is staffed primarily by volunteers.

Washington State law and the Kitsap County code have established the Veterans Assistance Fund as a steady source of tax dollars to be utilized for the needs of indigent veterans and their families. A portion of property tax collected in Kitsap County is earmarked for the VAF. The overall goal is to assist all veterans-in-the-need back into mainstream society by ensuring they understand all the programs available to them. ####Temporary emergency assistance is available for: - Rental and mortgage assistance - Energy or utilities assistance - Food assistance - Auto repair - Appliance repair - Clothing
