Solid Waste Division is responsible for collection of Residential and Commercial garbage pick up, recycling and yard waste within the city limits of Sedro-Woolley.

Centers and drop boxes in supermarket parking lots and other locations that serve as collection points for nonhazardous recyclable household and office materials such as paper, glass, plastic and aluminum. Residents and businesses typically bring their recyclable materials to the center and may collect a small fee for their efforts.

Recycling Centers

Community-sponsored voluntary or mandatory programs that encourage people in residential settings to recycle reusable resources such as newspaper, glass, plastic and metals such as aluminum, tin and steel which are found in cans. The program may supply recycling containers to participating households and may collect the recyclable materials on a regular basis.

Residential Recycling Programs

Provides services maintaining the infrastructure with the city of Shoreline.  
Offers services for roads, traffic, surface water, engineering, right of way, sidewalks, signals and street lights, garbage collection and environmental services and recycling.

Trash/Garbage Pickup

Provides environmental health services, such as restaurant inspections, solid waste facility monitoring and licensing, septic tank permits, sewage system inspections, well digging permits, nuisance investigations, pool and spa permits, recycling, and land use reviews. It also provides information on mold, rodents, and air quality. The Clark County Public Health Complaint Line is available for public health concerns.

Environmental Health Services offered at Clark County Public Health

Provides environmental health services, such as restaurant inspections, solid waste facility monitoring and licensing, septic tank permits, sewage system inspections, well digging permits, nuisance investigations, pool/spa permits, recycling, and land use reviews.

Programs that enforce food handling and dispensing laws and regulations by regularly inspecting restaurants, food stands, mobile food vehicles and carts (e.g., lunch trucks, ice cream trucks, produce carts), summer food service sites, congregate meal sites, employee on-site feeding operations, catering services, food sampling booths, wholesale food processing and manufacturing plants, markets, bakeries and food vending machines for health hazards; consulting with food facilities regarding improved food handling practices; and issuing citations and fines to establishments that have failed to comply with prescribed health practices and regulations. The program also provides information about requirements for retail food establishments, restaurant ratings and a list of establishments that have been closed because of health violations.

Restaurant/Food Sanitation

Programs that establish minimum standards for surface and ground water quality and develop and enforce regulations to prevent or reduce water pollution and assure a reliable supply of healthy drinking water and water that is suitable for other purposes. Water quality assurance programs issue permits specifying the types and amounts of pollutants that may be discharged without violating water quality standards; identify and monitor land uses and activities such as manufacturing or farming that are potential sources of pollution; test, record and report on the quality of water in lakes, rivers, streams, underground aquifers and water supply wells upon which public water systems rely; monitor water treatment and distribution systems; issue warnings and investigate hazards related to contamination; and, when warranted, initiate litigation against individuals and organizations who have failed to comply with water pollution control regulations. These programs may also provide support for the development and oversight of wastewater treatment facilities and certify operators of those facilities. Water quality is generally defined in terms of its designated use, e.g., for drinking, swimming, farming, fish production or industrial processes.

Water Quality Assurance

Programs that accept and, where possible, attempt to resolve complaints regarding fee or contract disputes, quality of service, unethical or improper conduct of personnel or other business practices of health spas.

Health Spa Complaints

Programs that provide information about the location and specific condition of hazardous waste sites within the jurisdiction where chromium 6, mercury, lead, benzene, arsenic and other byproducts of industrial processes are poisoning the water, soil and air in surrounding neighborhoods. The dumpsites are the legacy of the past use and disposal by polluters of toxic chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects and other health problems.

Programs that provide general information about mold as a pollutant, associated safety hazards and measures for remediation.

Mold Pollution Information

Programs that provide information that will help people control and/or eradicate infestations of insects, rodents and other pests that constitute a public health hazard or make a nuisance of themselves when they invade homes or take up residence in backyard gardens. Included may be facts about different types of pests, their habits and the types of damage they can cause; infestation prevention measures for specific varieties of pests; non-toxic (natural or organic) pest control methods; the proper use of chemical pesticides; fumigation facts; how to choose an exterminator; and other similar topics.

Pest Information

Programs that accept and, where possible, attempt to resolve complaints regarding the licensing, poor workmanship, unfair or deceptive services, high pressure sales techniques, failure to complete construction or other construction problems, unethical or inappropriate conduct or other inappropriate business practices of swimming pool contractors or companies that provide swimming pool maintenance or repair services.
