Offers a 5-week program providing assistance with job readiness, job search, work training and labor market information through workshops, computer resources and case management. Program participants may also get assistance with obtaining work-appropriate clothing. Workshops and case management offer the following services to all students enrolled: - Mentorship Life Skills & Training - Earn Certifications (Industrial First Aid/CPR, Flaggers, Food Handler Permit) - Financial Empowerment - Resume & Cover Letter Assistance - Job Connections - Wrap-Around Services Job announcements provided are current postings from private industry, city, county and state employers.

Career Centers are located at the Shorewood and Shorecrest high school libraries and are available to students and the public during school hours.   Staffed by two career specialists, the center offers job placement, scholarship and financial aid information, testing materials, career choice materials, and a variety of other materials to assist in post-secondary career plans.

Provides individual job development, job referrals, and direct job matching to low-income persons with a documented disability.  Offers on-the-job training contracts to employers.

Designed to help individuals gain the skills and abilities they need to get and keep "family wage" jobs. Services are free and customized to meet individual needs. Individuals work one-on-one with their employment representatives to meet their employment goals. Services available include: skills training, paid work experience and vocational education, help with resumes and cover letters, workshops on interviewing, job searching, demand occupations, GED preparation and testing, career counseling, guidance and employment referrals, and referral to community resources.

Provides the following job placement services:  Job seeking skills training (including resumes, cover letters, interviewing techniques, and job applications); job development and placement; and local labor market information.  Also provides training in the use of bus system or other forms of transportation.

Matches eligible jobseekers with local nonprofits and public agencies; day care centers, senior centers, schools, and hospitals. Paid training assignments.

Provides a wide range of employment and training counseling and services for youth, adults, and dislocated workers; including training, education, and support they may need to pursue their career and succeed in the workforce. Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. The goal is to help youth identify a career pathway and gain the skills they need to be successful in that pathway. - WorkFirst: Provides parents the opportunity to gain job skills and experience through a variety of work readiness programs, such as the Community Jobs (CJ) and Career Jump. - Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training (QUEST): connects individuals most affected by the pandemic—– women, tribal members, people of color, people with disabilities, even lower-wage workers—to quality training and employment. Foundation Community Supports helps people in Spokane County who qualify for Medicaid to find housing or employment.

Responsible for the administration of Employment and Community Access services for adults with developmental disabilities. Through partnerships with Employment Service Vendors, participants are supported in achieving community employment that offers competitive wages, an integrated work environment, and the opportunity for independence on the job. Support Services are individualized to meet each person's need on the job that are consistent with the participant's interest, skills, and employment goals.

We train job seekers to join the workforce and help them find and keep good jobs. We can link workers with training, resources and support.

Offers community-based assessment and training, facility-based assessment and training, formal assessment, real time work assessment, skills training classroom, work adjustment/hardening, and many others. Also provides career readiness, group supported employment (job coaches), individual support, job placement, job search assistance, and vocational counseling.

Provides job search & job placement assistance for people who are experiencing homelessness or who are unstably housed. Program includes a full range of individualized employment and support services needed to achieve self-sufficiency and stable housing.

Provides skills training to empower people to live independently in the community.   Services may include: -  Information and referral -  Independent living skills training -  Peer support -  Finding and retaining housing -  How to apply for Social Security, DSHS or WA Apple Health (Medicaid)/Medicare -  Assistance with employment including help creating a resume, job search assistance and job preparation services. All work is focused around the individual consumer's personal goals.

Helps workers who have lost jobs, through no fault of their own, to gain access to federal and state programs for retraining and re-employment. Provides skill and employment assessments that help job seekers in knowing what their skills are and which types of jobs they can potentially qualify for. Veteran Services: Provides job placement assistance, on-the-job training opportunities, and limited job-skills training. Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) maintain contacts outside the office with businesses in the community to do special job development and maintain relationships with veteran service agencies and organizations.

Provides employment related assistance to Businesses, Veterans and other eligible persons. Services includes but are not limited to; job development, business relations, job counseling, job search assistance, job referral and placement. Veteran staff regularly advise groups in the community, including employers, labor unions and veterans' organizations, of Veterans eligible for employment, as well as connecting Veterans to job openings.

WorkSource Spokane houses a resource center called "The WorkSource Hub". The Hub provides the ability to research employers, industries and labor market trends, utilize career software to assess your skills and interests, create and update resumes and cover letters, and post your resume online. The Hub is staffed with WorkSource Professionals who are dedicated in finding your next career.

A local veterans employment representative and disabled veterans case managers assist the veteran population.  Job referrals and placement assistance are provided to veterans by the case managers, while the employment representative's focus is on connecting with employers that hire and / or train veterans.

Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.
