Crime Victim Compensation offered at Washington State Department of Labor & Industries Headquarters
Provides compensation for crime victims including coverage of medical bills, wages lost, mental health treatment and death benefits.
Provides financial compensation to crime victims for such expenses as:
- Medical/Dental treatment
- Medication
- Mental health treatment
- Grief counseling
- Partial wage loss replacement
- Funeral expenses
- Expenses not covered by other insurance (such as medical co-pays and medical deductibles)
State law requires the Crime Victims Compensation Program to pay the costs of sexual assault examinations when they are performed to gather evidence for possible prosecution.
Crimes and cost not covered are identity theft, personal property crimes and crime scene clean-up.

Domestic Violence Advocacy offered at Our Sisters' House
Provides staff to the DSHS Community Services Office (CSO) and the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center. Helps families leaving domestic violence develop a safety plan, find shelter, obtain counseling, navigate DSHS to find assistance.

Advocates strive to provide 24 hour support to DV victims.
Helps clients reach stability by way of providing resources through referrals to other agencies whom they work closely with, in providing assistance and additional resources to clients and their families.
Resources range from housing assistance (referrals), legal referrals, counseling referrals, medical referrals, other support groups, and education.
Goal is to engage, acknowledge and challenge clients to reach their full potential after experiencing DV.

In addition to support groups, Our Sisters' House is sometimes able to offer emergency nights stays at motels for those who are fleeing an abuser, but are unable to access shelters because they are full and unable to take victims right away.
Offers emergent bill assistance with rent, utilities, etc. that are a direct result of domestic violence and immediate evacuation from the abuser.
Offers other basic emergent needs such as food, clothing, and personal hygiene needs, baby needs such as diapers, etc (based on what is available at the time).
