Domestic Violence Advocacy offered at Our Sisters' House

Domestic Violence Advocacy offered at Our Sisters' House

Provides staff to the Crystal Judson Family Justice Center. Advocates strive to provide 24 hour support to DV victims. Helps clients reach stability by way of providing resources through referrals to other agencies whom they work closely with, in providing assistance and additional resources to clients and their families. Resources range from housing assistance (referrals), legal referrals, counseling referrals, medical referrals, other support groups, and education. Goal is to engage, acknowledge and challenge clients to reach their full potential after experiencing DV. Call 253-798-4166 for advocacy. In addition to support groups, Our Sisters' House is sometimes able to offer emergency nights stays at motels for those who are fleeing an abuser, but are unable to access shelters because they are full and unable to take victims right away. Offers emergent bill assistance with rent, utilities, etc. that are a direct result of domestic violence and immediate evacuation from the abuser. Offers other basic emergent needs such as food, clothing, and personal hygiene needs, baby needs such as diapers, etc (based on what is available at the time). Call 253-383-4275 for the extra support.
