Provides housing counseling services to low-income clients who are homeless or at-risk of being homeless.
Provides housing counseling services to low-income clients who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or fleeing a domestic violence situation. Services may include connecting clients with landlords, dealing with barriers to housing including those with criminal background, credit issues, or past evictions, and helping clients in need of housing assistance that are unable to be referred because they do not qualify. Clients will be informed as to what resources are available and what they would need to qualify (i.e. the income requirements in order to receive rental assistance and rapid re-housing funds.)
Financial Literacy and Renter Education offered at Opportunity Council - Whatcom County
Provides classes designed to increase knowledge of how to save, spend, and invest money. Also helps potential tenants find housing sign a lease and become a good tenant.
Financial Literacy and Rental Education (F.L.A.R.E.) is a series of FREE classes designed to increase adults’ knowledge of their individual money habits and attitudes, saving strategies, tracking spending, budget skills and credit along with the basic skills to become a competent renter. F.L.A.R.E. counts as a WorkFirst activity for TANF participants.

Landlord Liaison Program offered at Associated Ministries
Provides a renters readiness course and readiness guide that are available at no cost to the public. Also offers a program that helps recruit landlords to the program.

- Renters Readiness Certification - offers a three part series that covers several important topics for renters. Once all three classes have been completed, attendees can receive a certificate that can help boost their rental applications. Rent Well, a program of Transition Projects is a 15-hour tenant education curriculum that provides individuals with the support, knowledge, and expertise they need to become successful tenants.
Rent Well, a program of Transition Projects is a 15-hour tenant education curriculum that provides individuals with the support, knowledge, and expertise they need to become successful tenants. The Rent Well curriculum is broken up into twelve 70-minute sections and can be taught through in-person classes by certified instructors, over Zoom, or as a stand-alone eCourse. These sections cover everything from Fair Housing Laws, the rental screening process, how to talk to a potential landlord about screening barriers, credit repair and building, how to maintain a healthy home, and the eviction process.

Provides a Rent Well instructor certification program for nonprofit organization staff. Individuals interested in becoming new instructors need to complete a 2-day, 16-hour New Instructor Training that happens 4 times per year.
