Crisis Respite Program offered at DESC's Emergency Shelter/Day Center
Provides temporary shelter, behavioral health stabilization and short-term case management for homeless men and women with severe mental illnesses and co-occurring addictions who are transitioning from a crisis mental health provider.
Provides ongoing psychiatric stabilization for people discharging from inpatient mental health or substance use treatment settings, emergency rooms and jails. The program maintains 20 beds for single adults, with a flexible, clinically appropriate length of stay. CRP serves as a vital bridge for clients by offering a safe, supportive environment, and facilitating connections with long-term outpatient services, healthcare, and housing options.
