Extended Care Program offered by Seattle's Union Gospel Mission at Men's Shelter

Provides respite beds for men who are homeless and need bed rest after surgery or other illness.   Provides meals, supervision and medication monitoring.   No services available for wound care.   Clients must attend a daily half-hour Bible study.   Van pick-up from hospital available on case-by-case basis.

Application process

Call for intake. Referral from doctor or hospital social worker required. Length of stay determined by doctor's orders for bed rest.

Eligibility

Homeless men who need bed rest to recover from surgery or other illness. Must be ambulatory no wheelchairs; no wound care; attendance at Bible study required. Will monitor medications.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission

Operates an emergency shelter for single men and women with or without children. Enhanced shelters are 30-day maximum stays. Guests will then be required to join a recovery program or LINK (working program) if they do not have substance use history. We provide job-readiness, Bible studies, and addiction recovery.
