Represents and protects cattle communities and property rights through political presence and promoting sound images and practices of the cattle industry.

Programs that attempt to influence the introduction or review of pending bills, ordinances or administrative rulings with the objective of having an impact on the passage or defeat of such legislation or its content.

Legislative Advocacy

Organizations whose members are individuals and companies in the same trade or industry who have affiliated for the purpose of advancing common interests, taking united action on common problems, exchanging ideas and ensuring that the industry grows and prospers. Trade associations lobby for legislation that advances industry interests; establish standards and guidelines that strengthen the field; provide information about issues which affect the industry and a forum for discussion and action where necessary; research and disseminate industry statistics; provide websites, directories, newsletters or other vehicles where members can advertise their products and services; and/or host national or international trade exhibitions, showcases and product presentations, trade missions and other promotional activities.  Some trade associations have buying consortiums; negotiate discounts on related services; and offer liability, health, disability, business and other insurance to members.

Programs that provide information, technical assistance and support regarding the business side of managing a farm, ranch or other agricultural enterprise. Included is assistance in business management, accounting, taxation, capitalization, purchasing, marketing, planning, human resources management, government programs and regulations and other similar areas.

Farm/Ranch Management Support

Promotes wheat interests and provides a means for wheat growers to work together and provides advocacy work in Salem to provide key input on federal farm legislation, and ensures the voice of Oregon grain producers are heard.
