Operates a foundation center where financial donations may be made in memory of a loved one, as a tribute to an individual, a gift of appreciation to healthcare professionals, or in support of the care provided by the Cancer Center. Larger gifts may be designated to the Foundation's Endowment, a way to ensure that services will be available well into the future. 

Offers a resource center providing wigs, hats, prostheses, bras, scarves, and satin pillowcases free of charge. The intent is to assist patients in looking and feeling the best possible during their cancer journey.

Cancer Center / Radiation Therapy offered at Kadlec Tri-Cities Cancer Center

Provides radiation therapy for cancer patients and wealth of cancer information and educational resources for the entire community.

Programs that provide information about the causes and origins, preventive measures, symptoms, screening/diagnostic procedures, and/or methods of treatment or management including the latest research for specific illnesses or disabling conditions.

Disease/Disability Information

Programs that offer the screening procedure for the early detection of breast cancer which involves an X-ray picture of the breast area which can be studied for abnormalities.

Mammograms

Programs that pay for or provide new or gently used socks, undershirts, bras, slips, nightgowns, pajamas, bathrobes and other undergarments/nightwear.

Underwear/Sleepwear

Programs that help cancer patients, accident victims, burn patients and others with temporary or permanent conditions that affect their features, cope with the appearance-related effects of their illness, injury, disability or treatment regimen by teaching them cosmetic techniques that will help restore their appearance and self-image. Services may include workshops, literature and information about make-up, hair alternatives, skin and nail care as well as wig, scarf, hat and turban demonstrations (for cancer patients coping with the side-effects of chemotherapy and radiation) or suggestions regarding appearance enhancement options available to people with other types of challenges. Participants may receive cosmetics donated by the cosmetic industry that they can use at home.

Appearance Enhancement Consultation Programs

Programs that treat people who have a particular illness or condition through the application of chemical reagents which have a specific and toxic effect upon the disease-causing organism, or through the use of radioactive substances including radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation to kill diseased cells. Included are radioactive implants, x-ray radiation therapy and supervoltage and megavoltage treatments with specialized equipment including cobalt units, linear accelerators with or without electron team therapy capability, betatrons and van de Graff machines.

Chemotherapy/Radiation Therapy

Organizations that solicit contributions, endowments and other financial support from public and private sources which are used directly by the organization to provide human services for eligible residents of the community or which are utilized to provide the total or supplementary financial support for human service programs of community agencies and organizations. Also included are governmental and quasi-governmental entities that manage the allocation of public monies to public and private human service providers.

Charities/Grantmaking Organizations

Programs that pay for or provide hairpieces for cancer victims and other individuals who have lost their hair due to the side effects of chemotherapy or radiation therapy or as a result of a condition such as alopecia areata.

Wigs

Libraries or other centers located in community organizations that house a collection of materials which may focus on a particular topic or activity such as parenting, preventive health care or woodworking; or which may be more general in nature. Staff with expertise in the subject may be available to answer questions or help people with their research. Materials may be used at the center or, in some cases, checked out and used elsewhere.

Agency Based Libraries/Resource Centers

Programs that participate in community services fairs and expositions by setting up information booths which have display materials that are designed to increase participants' awareness of the need for or availability of services in a particular geographical or service area or for a particular target group; the causes, detection and treatment of a particular disease, disability or condition and means for its prevention; or specific social problems that affect the community and potential solutions.
