The Caregiver Support Center offers an opportunity for unpaid caregivers, helping an adult in Kitsap County, to meet with a case manager, check out books from a lending library, and obtain brochures, tip sheets, and resource lists at no cost. Unpaid caregivers may also inquire about scholarship eligibility for caregiver training, education, or workshop opportunities.

Career information and job search assistance is available through individual counseling and workshops.  Career information includes self-assessment and career opportunities. Job Search assistance includes information on applications, interviews, and resume/letter writing.  The Resource Room has a Career Information Library, Job Search Videos, computers, several computer assisted programs, and Internet access for job searches.

Loans books, videos, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, books on tape, audio tapes and other materials.

Loans library materials, including:   -  Books and magazines -  Newspapers -  CDs, DVDs and videos -  Books on CD,  and other materials -  Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots.   Provides public access to a variety of computer resources, including:   -  Internet -  Word processing -  Printers -  Searchable online databases   Offers story times, children's programming, teen activities and adult book discussion groups among its many services.   Among all locations of The Seattle Public Library, 400 programs are offered per month, as publicized on the Library website calendar.   Delivers reading materials to:   -  Nursing homes and retirement homes -  Facilities for children and adults with mental, physical or emotional disabilities -  Day care centers -  Senior centers   Home service is set up on a regularly-scheduled basis for homebound individuals with an illness of six months duration or longer.   Books-by-mail service is available for people who meet the criteria for home service. These services are available in Seattle only. Libraries may also be visited to escape heat or cold during extreme weather during the day.

The library loans various types of equipment to enhance the use of our materials and to make your life easier. Bird watching and bat detector kits are available. You can borrow DVD, CD or cassette players. We have projectors available for your slide or digital presentation. You can check out a WiFi Hotspot for internet service through a T-Mobile cell tower. Aids for Independent Living kits can alleviate some issues with disabilities and recovery.
