Spokane Alliance is a broad-based community-organizing non-profit organization that assists individuals in working together to make changes in their community. Spokane Alliance works with faith, union, non-profit, and childcare institutions to build power and create change on a broad range of issues impacting communities, families, and individuals. Assists individuals in working together to make changes in their community. Works with faith, union, non-profit, and childcare institutions to build power and create change on a broad range of issues impacting communities, families, and individuals.

Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to help the agency with any of a wide variety of special events (e.g., parties, dances, receptions, concerts, lecture series, arts fairs, charity golf tournaments or walkathons) on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Volunteers may be asked to greet, register and orient the event guests; collect payments; hand out programs; assist with crowd control, exhibit interactions, coat-check and behind-the-scenes operations; and take on other tasks to help ensure that the event runs smoothly.

Special Event Support Volunteer Opportunities

Private, nonprofit human service and advocacy organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 that provide emergency assistance to people in crisis; address the causes of poverty through programs that fight unemployment, inadequate housing, poor nutrition and lack of educational opportunity; and provide training in advocacy skills. Community Action Agencies (CAAs), also known as Community Action Programs (CAPs), operate a variety of core services in the communities they serve. Included are GED and ESL education, job training programs, Head Start and day care, weatherization and energy assistance programs, health services, services for older adults (e.g., Foster Grandparents and RSVP), emergency food assistance and homelessness prevention programs. They are also involved in affordable housing creation and renovation and small business assistance.
