Provides screening for inebriation and medical problems and transportation to appropriate services for people who are chronically publicly inebriated.  Responds to calls from the 911 emergency dispatch system.  The van can transport a maximum of six individuals.  Transports to Pioneer Human Services' King County Diversion Center, another appropriate facility or an emergency room.  Individuals with extreme medical problems will be transported to Harborview Medical Center Emergency Room.

Emergency Service Patrol offered at King County Department of Community and Human Services - Chemical Dependency Services

Transports individuals incapacitated by alcohol or drugs to Dutch Shisler Sobering Center or to a hospital if there are medical problems. Patrols from downtown Seattle southward to Spokane Street. Service is dispatched by 911 operators.

Programs that provide in-person immediate response services for people who are in life-threatening situations due to a drug overdose or acute intoxication. Included are 24-hour facilities which have emergency intake capabilities and organizations that have mobile units which allow staff to intervene directly at the scene.

Substance Use Disorder Crisis Intervention

Programs that identify and pick up individuals who are intoxicated in public places and transport them to facilities which can provide a safe place to stay until the person is sober enough to resume responsibility for him or herself. The program may also include linkage with detoxification resources and other services the individual may need.
