Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) is a safe and effective treatment for people with dependence on opioid drugs like hydrocodone or heroin. This medication helps eliminate cravings and can help with pain. CHCW clinics are now able to prescribe this medication as part of an office based treatment program. If a patient would like to be added to the wait list, they may call the office. The wait list fluctuates with need and referrals. If they are already a patient of Community Health of Central Washington in Yakima or Kittitas Counties, they would be added. If they need transfer of primary care, they would be added as soon as that process is complete. There are 4 phases of care and as the patient progresses, they will have less frequent visits.

Walk in primary care for acute and chronic conditions. Clinics held at free meal programs, day centers, shelters and encampments, providing basic medical care to homeless individuals and families living in South King County and Seattle. A doctor or nurse provides exams and treatment. Program does not carry narcotics or provide any prescription pain medication. Also offers: - STD, HIV and Hepatitis C testing, pregnancy tests and birth control - Access to behavioral health and chemical dependency specialists. Harm reduction services including clean needles and naloxone overdose prevention kits - Some sites additionally have mobile dental care (services focus on treating dental pain NOT preventative cleanings). Can also help people connect to other community services including: - A doctor's office that can provide follow-up care - Mental health care, including counseling - Substance use counseling and treatment via a harm reduction approach - Dental care - Vision resources - Enrollment into health insurance - Enrollment into ORCA LIFT transportation - Referrals to shelter, food banks, legal assistance and domestic violence programs

Offers one-to-one exchange of clean syringe equipment, along with health education, wound care, and naloxone for overdose prevention. Includes Hepatitis C and HIV screening with referral for care, family planning services such as birth control counseling, contraception (Depo-Provera), emergency contraception, and pregnancy testing. Also helps with Medicaid enrollment and provides referrals for primary care, dental care, substance use disorder treatment, medication-assisted treatment, and other community services.

Other services include rapid Hepatitis C and HIV testing, safer sex supplies, PReP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and health insurance navigation, overdose prevention training, naloxone kit distribution, and referrals to community resources. The Addiction Treatment is managed by a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, chaplains, and addiction therapists. Quitting substances is not required to get support. All substance use-related treatment goals are supported—VA Puget Sound encourages all actions taken to improve health and wellness. Non-judgmental space offering free safe injection supplies, used syringe disposal, naloxone, fentanyl and xylazine test strips, wound care supplies, Hepatitis C and HIV testing, Nicotine Replacement Therapy, housing, social and substance use treatment referrals when requested, free food pantry and more.

Operates a free naloxone mail order program for Washington state. One order per person a month. Users can order four injectable doses or two nasal spray doses. Naloxone provided by this program cannot be resold.
