This study is conducted by Washington State University for people 18 years or older and want to cut down or stop using alcohol. Behavioral intervention called contingency management is used, in which participants receive gift cards for attending their telehealth appointments and providing blood samples consistent with a reduction/abstinence in alcohol use.

The program includes topics such as understanding the concept of relapse as a process, identifying external and internal warning signs of relapse, and identifying tools and behavior which can interrupt the relapse process. The program consists of one session per week for 26 weeks.   Positive Choices Group-Positive Choices (substance abuse treatment)  Offers a six-month program including group and individual treatment/prevention opportunities. The Positive Choices program at Alpine Recovery Services is appropriate for people who have a history of alcohol and/or drug abuse with adverse life effects, but without demonstrated addiction and who have been diagnosed as alcohol/drug abusers through professional assessment. Alcohol and drug problems may or may not have resulted in legal issues. The program consists of one 90-minute group session a week for twelve weeks, followed by one 90-minute group session every other week for six sessions.  Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Participants may include people who internalize their anger as well as those who act it out verbally or in behavior toward friends, family, children, employers or other people in their lives. - Deferred Prosecution: Provides and/or coordinate the delivery of individual, group and family counseling, training, employment assistance and other prescribed social services for individuals who have been arrested for a minor offense and directed to participate in an educational or treatment program in lieu of prosecution for the offense. In most cases, the courts suspend prosecution for a prescribed period and dismiss charges altogether against those who successfully complete the program.
