Students are encouraged to explore the effects of alcohol and other drug use on themselves, their families and their world.   DUI Evaluations Provides a court-ordered assessment of individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol to evaluate the severity of their problem and make a recommendation to the court regarding appropriate treatment.   Outpatient Treatment Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires fewer than nine hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development). Length of service can be anywhere between six months to two years depending on the needs of the individual and/or court order.   Intensive Outpatient Treatment   Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires 9-20 hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development).   Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Offers rehabilitation and support services to adults experiencing severe and persistent psychosis. Supports career and learning goals, offers peer support and mentorship, provides access to preventive healthcare, helps develop healthy lifestyle choices, coordinates with medical services, and provides medication treatment and education.

Autism Center providers multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluation and treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Services include comprehensive psychiatric assessment, brief intervention treatment, medication evaluation and management, short-term evidence-informed therapies in both individual and group settings. In addition specialized classes and support services are offered to families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Agency provides DBHR-certified service(s).

Provides mental health consultation and treatment recommendations for UWMC patients as well as patients referred in by outside providers.   Also offers -  Short-term medication management -  Short-term psychotherapy with referral to community resources for longer term therapy -  Coordination of care with primary care physicians   This clinic primarily serves patients referred from within UW Medical Center and provides a setting for psychology and psychiatry residents to learn under the supervision of attending faculty members.   This clinic does not provide services related to court orders, mandated evaluations, disability evaluations or labor and industry mandated evaluations.

Clinicians and medical staff work together to provide clients with safe access to medications. This may mean: - assisting the client with setting up a medication box; - distributing medication on a scheduled basis; - advocating for the client with pharmaceutical companies who supply medication free of charge to the client; - regular visits with the nurse or doctor; etc.
