Offers mutual-help support groups throughout Washington state where parents can address the challenges of parenting in a non-judgmental setting.   Groups are parent-led with the assistance of a trained facilitator. Groups meet on Zoom and in person.

Facilitates a safe environment where those who are pregnant or parenting can share the joys, challenges, and struggles that can come with being a mom. No judgement, no advice, just a chance to listen and be listened to. Meets virtually via Zoom on Wednesdays from 1pm to 2:30pm.

Support program for parents/guardians of children and adults with disabilities. Offers emotional support, resources, and system navigation for families of children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental/behavioral health, and chronic health conditions. Connects families who share similar experiences in parenting a child with developmental disability or chronic health condition.

Provides support and information to families of children with disabilities and/or special health care needs. Services offered: public awareness and outreach to the community regarding people, emotional support, information about school and transition services, social and recreational events, quarterly newsletter, lending library, assistance accessing DDA, SSI and more.

Offers peer mentoring and support to families in the child welfare system. Provides by parents that have successfully navigated a dependency and are now here to help parents currently involved in one. Provides support at court hearings, offer a class explaining the dependency process, phone mentoring and help navigating community resources. Provides Dependency 101 Classes, which offers tools and resources to empower parents. Parents also share personal stories of making it through the dependency process and local presenters talk about their roles in the court process and how to best work with them for success. A certificate for completing the free, one-time, 2-hour class is provided.

Empowers people with Down syndrome and their families through life-long learning and experiences while building an accepting and inclusive society. The Down Syndrome Center of Puget Sound (DSC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families through direct services, education, advocacy, and community engagement. DSC provides a continuum of support—from early intervention to adulthood—focusing on inclusion, skill development, and family education.

The Washington State Fathers Network (WSFN) fulfills its mission by building meaningful connections among male caregivers and linking them to essential resources and information. We equip father figures with tools to share their stories and advocate for change, while advancing inclusion in every community we serve. Provides mental health support for parents and birthing people coping with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through connection, information and resources. Services include 24-hour phone support, parent to parent support groups online and in-person and partner support for family members who want to support someone coping with postpartum depression or anxiety. Resource packets may be emailed/mailed at no cost.

Provides emotional support and information to families/caregivers of children with special needs and/or disabilities. Utilizes trained veteran parents "Helping Parents" who provide one-on-one support to new or referred parent who have a child with similar needs. Offers various support groups for parents that have children with disabilities. Meetings include family, siblings, mother, and father support groups. Program Activities: Parent Support Group, Fathers support network, Sib-shops, Newsletter, Lending Library, and a helping parent program.

What kind of tutoring, mentorship, parent support does this program offer?

Provides networking opportunities for families with a disabled or seriously ill child. It's an opportunity for families with similar situations to network with one another while at a camp session.

Father Engagement: Provides fathers with information about the child welfare systems, the courts, child support, and to increase parenting skills. Engages the fathers of children who are placed in out-of-home care and increases the father’s involvement in the lives of their children. Fathers in Transition: Assists African American fathers who have been involved with the criminal justice system by providing employment and housing so they can positively impact the lives of their children and the community. Case managers and peer mentors meet with fathers weekly to provide support, community resources, housing and employment. Must also participate in Father Engagement. Young Bulls Fatherhood Academy: Weekly support services include one-on-one case management, life skills coaching, and workshops that provide access to and information about community resources, housing, employment opportunities, apprenticeship programs, and behavioral health services. Also supplies basic needs such as gas cards, food, bus passes, diapers, wipes and clothing.

Offers resources for parents of children with disabilities. Includes Father's Network, for fathers of children with disabilities; and SibShops, for siblings of children with disabilities. Provides a series of culturally relevant parent education classes and individual counseling sessions with parents who are experiencing parenting challenges. Classes are available to the general public and focus on child development, stress and anger management, nutrition, health and safety, communication, self-esteem and behavior.

Provides emotional support and information to families of children with developmental disabilities, delays, and ongoing health care needs. Offers an individualized peer support program which matches parents of children with developmental disabilities with trained volunteers who are also parents of children with developmental disabilities, so that they might work together for emotional support and guidance.

Connects Black families with disabilities to promote engagement, bonding, and access to essential services. Provides comprehensive support including cultural brokerage, one-to-one assistance, system navigation, resource sharing, resilience-building, and advocacy. Family Service Navigators offer support across all life stages, from childhood to adulthood.

Works to improve the lives of people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Empowers parents and other family members of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to engage in system-level advocacy.

Provides training, information and resources to parents, individuals with disabilities and professionals regarding issues of education. Provides one-on-one support and coordinate workshops in communities throughout Washington. Publishes PAVE Pipeline, a quarterly newsletter, for subscribers which offers information about upcoming workshops and articles of interest. Provides referrals to support groups for parents of children with disabilities.

Provides support, information, and education to those who are raising children with disabilities and special health care needs in Grant and Adams counties. Parent to Parent connects family members in similar situations who know the challenges they face, creating a community of emotional support for parents, siblings, and other caregivers.

Works with parents one on one regarding parenting skills, resources, and systems navigation.

Provides a program for parents by parents of children with intellectual or developmental disabilities or with special health care needs.   Matches a trained mentor parent with a parent seeking support. Effort is made to match parents with similar children and life experiences. Program activities include: -  Informal support groups at various times and locations throughout King County -  Online support groups -  Occasional recreational activities for the entire family

Offers 90-minute weekly group meetings for children to engage in coordinated group activities, child-directed play and for children and parents to interact with each other.  Also serves to strengthen caregiving/parenting support and learning by building relationships between caregivers/parents.

Provides individual information and resources on how individuals can advocate for their child(ren) in the health care system, as well as making informed choices around coverage and care. Provides health care navigation training for youth, families and community leaders. Outreach to cultural and community groups. Provides information, resources, training, support and referral services in Washington State.

Provides a wide rage of services for children with special and developmental healthcare needs and their families. Integrates physical health, behavior, mental health, and educational services to optimize daily life for the child and family. Provides Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnostic clinic, behavioral and developmental evaluations, cleft lip and palate program, infant and toddler early intervention, medical specialty clinics, nurse family partnership, pediatric dental services, therapy services, speech and language therapy, genetics program, and family support.
