Provides an opportunity for parents receiving TANF to gain work experience and improve job skills while getting paid. Participants must be referred by the DSHS.

The goal of the center is to provide career assistance to Western Washington University students and alumni as well as members of the local community. The Center also seeks to develop and maintain positive relationships with employers in the University's service area.

SPIPA Workforce Development Program offers support services, and case management with a focus on education and career development in Kitsap and Pierce counties.

Offers classes and referrals for people who want to change the direction of their lives but lack the resources to do so. The program follows a comprehensive family, career, and education-based approach to help students with 1:1 Coaching, Job Search & Retention, Life & Family skills, Money Management, and Vocational or Continuing education preparation.

Provides ten weeks of construction training including classroom instruction, hands-on experience, certifications, and site visits to apprenticeship training centers.

Offers an employment training program where participants register for a six-week training plan that is tailored to the participants needs.Participants are assigned staff as mentors; this is a hands on job training. At the end of six weeks, participants have gained or improved the following skills: - Time management - Team player - Communication - Customer service - Organization skills - Problem solving - Accountability

Next Steps Program is designed to provide innovative, transformative support for individuals and their families who have been involved in the criminal justice system, as they prepare for education and re-entering the workforce.

Provides skills training to empower people to live independently in the community.   Services may include: -  Information and referral -  Independent living skills training -  Peer support -  Finding and retaining housing -  How to apply for Social Security, DSHS or WA Apple Health (Medicaid)/Medicare -  Assistance with employment including help creating a resume, job search assistance and job preparation services. All work is focused around the individual consumer's personal goals.

Provides employment and training support to job seekers and businesses. Some eligibility requirements may apply. - Assists with career assessments, job search, applications, resume/cover letters, job readiness, and interviewing preparation. Assists business with recruitment, hosting employee training, labor market information, and finding candidates for openings. - Economic Security for All (EcSA) serves families by building a partnership around the four pillars of support: transportation, healthcare, childcare, and employment. - Unemployment Information: Provide computer and telephone access to apply for Unemployment Insurance benefits. Customers may call the UI hotline at (800)318.6022 or log into eServices at esd.wa.gov/unemployment. (Online application, weekly filing, and submission of documents is encouraged to expedite the process.)

Supports job seekers in successfully pursuing employment that fits their skills, passions and needs. Helps participants to fully understand the hiring process including how to: - Effectively network - Convey personal strengths in resume writing - Develop strong interviewing skills - Advance technical/online skills and database of resources (i.e. LinkedIn) These skills are developed through: - Guest speakers with expertise in a wide variety of vocations - Group discussion and relationships - Access to counselors that can provide well-being support during unemployment

Provides job readiness skills including resume preparation, job search assistance, job interview help and on the job coaching to assist in job retention.

Provides job search and job training support services to eligible Basic Food (food stamp) recipients. Assistance includes: -  Job placement -  Vocational training -  College and career planning -  Job readiness training -  Interview assistance -  Clothing assistance -  Connections to regional employers

Works with students to explore career options and develop a plan to achieve academic and professional goals. Career Planner Services assists students in discovering and clarifying career goals and linking them with educational and training programs.   Offers career assessments, as well as a variety of career-related workshops and individual appointments. Educational Planning Services provide academic and professional/technical advising.   The educational planning process helps students develop educational plans, interpret program requirements, choose a program of study, and/or plan for transfer to a four-year institution.

The Transitional Studies Program provides instruction in reading, math, writing, and basic computer skills. It offers English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, as well as pathways to earning a GED or high school diploma. Classes are offered in Forks, Port Angeles, and Sequim, with online options.

Provides support and advocacy for recovery and wellness through scheduled activities and peer support. Services include mental health and wellness support groups, men's and women's support groups, computer classes, support for building resumes and cover letters and completing job applications, and an evening Warm Line for peer support. Services are focused on those in recovery from substance abuse or mental health issues.

Acts as a direct referral from DSHS Community Service Offices for refugees new to the system who need employment services. Services include pre-employment training, vocational English as a second language (ESL) classes, skills training, job placement and customized employment training in specific fields, such as hotel housekeeping.

Provides job search and referral assistance through one-on-one assistance. Helps clients search using the Internet and make phone calls. Provides job readiness classes that teach resume typing, interview skills, internet searching, etc.

Offers individual job search assistance and job preparedness workshops for youth, adults, dislocated worker, migrant seasonal farmworkers, and veterans. A computer laboratory and resource room are available for job searching and career planning activities. Job seekers can access www.worksourceskc.org or www.go2worksource.com for listings of job announcements. Helps people find employment who have lost their jobs through company downsizing or plant closures. Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) provides training and education with a goal of assisting Basic Food clients to attaining a living wage career.  BFET services are available from all WA State community and technical colleges as well as many non-college community based organization (CBO) contractors (Opportunity Council is one of these).   Most clients who receive federally funded Basic Food (SNAP) and are at least 16 years old can receive BFET services. Even clients with college education may benefit from retraining or job search services.

Helps young womxn of color; focusing on Black women and girls, advance in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) career and education opportunities. Meet one-on-one with participants to set goals, check in, and offer any resources they need to get over barriers in their way. Hosts workshops on career readiness like resume/cover letter help, interview tips, and employment soft skills. Interviews women in STEM to hear their journeys, challenges, and do Q&As. Offers workshops on protective factors like self-care, microaggressions at work, and implicit bias in the workplace.
