Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

Offers a youth education and employment & training program for youth 16-24 years of age. Assists low-income, out-of-school youth in improving academic performance, high school or GED completion, and career exploration.

Provides housing stabilization assistance for single-parent families and pregnant women who are in imminent danger of becoming homeless and who live in Maple Valley and cities within a nine-mile radius.   Provides the following services as the family grows to stability:   -  Rent assistance -  Housing case management -  Employment services -  Financial budgeting -  Life skills classes -  Child and youth case management -  Counseling

A community hub where individuals and parents with children can attend programs and workshops, access community resources, connect with others, and receive information and referrals. Services vary by location but may include use of the phone, use of the fax, access to applications for subsidized apartments, and use of the computer work stations. Clients are not able to use the resource center as a mailing address.

Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. The goal is to help youth identify a career pathway and gain the skills they need to be successful in that pathway. - WorkFirst: Provides parents the opportunity to gain job skills and experience through a variety of work readiness programs, such as the Community Jobs (CJ) and Career Jump. - Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training (QUEST): connects individuals most affected by the pandemic—– women, tribal members, people of color, people with disabilities, even lower-wage workers—to quality training and employment. Helps Latino immigrants achieve economic self-sufficiency by providing job training for domestic work including yardwork, green house cleaning, moving and more. Focuses on participation, network, promotion, training and job referrals.   Program held in Spanish.   Participants also take a health & safety workshop to learn how to: -  Avoid workplace injuries -  Properly use personal protection equipment -  Identify and reduce danger in the workplace This workshop is offered two times per month.   The health & safety workshop is required for those wanting to be hired through CASA Latina's day labor and employment services.

Connects job seekers to employers via career counseling, vocationally related case management, job coaching, vocational assessment, and job development. The Homeless Employment Navigator program offers supported employment services to chronically homeless individuals and families. Services include rapid job search assistance, resource coordination and maximization, and assistance in developing employment plans and vocational profiles.

Competitive employment services are designed for individuals who already have specific skills and some previous work history. Participants referred for this service may need assistance in resume building, interviewing techniques and job development activities. Based on the vocational goal of the participant, professional job developers set up job hunting and development activities. These include identifying which employers to contact, securing applications and other position related materials, arranging for informational interviews, and making labor market assessments. The participant is expected to take an active role in the process. Once a position is secured and the job offer accepted, skilled job coaches are available to assist in the initial, intensive training on the job. Retention services are also provided for 90 days following placement. These services focus on insuring that both the employee and employer are satisfied with the job and that expectations are being met. If needed, training is also provided to facilitate co-worker support for the new employee. Even after the 90-day retention period, if the need arises for specific training or support, staff remains available to meet those needs.

Provides employment and training services for individuals 16 and older with chemical dependency, disabilities, or any other physical struggle. Helps individuals prepare and enter the workforce by tailoring to their needs, interests, and skills. Tries to match each individual with the right employer. Provide a wide range of services to support individuals find pathways to a successful career, including employment planning, vocational assessment, job placement, job development, job training, and job retention and more. Works with the Developmental Disability Administration, Division Vocational Rehabilitation, and Foundational Community Services.

The Bridgeways Employment Services staff work with adults living with mental illness who are seeking employment in the community.  The program provides job-related services and supports taking each person’s strengths, abilities, talents, experiences, and preferences into account.

The goal of the center is to provide career assistance to Western Washington University students and alumni as well as members of the local community. The Center also seeks to develop and maintain positive relationships with employers in the University's service area.
