Specialized Habilitation
Helps individuals create healthy relationships, adapt to challenges, and improve overall quality-of-life. Services offer resources for community integration including:
- Self-empowerment.
- Safety awareness and self-advocacy.
- Interpersonal skills and effective communication.
- Coping strategies regarding typical life challenges.
- Learning how to manage daily tasks to gain adaptive skills.
Community Engagement
Services are designed to develop creative, flexible and supportive community resources and relationships to connect individuals to resources in their community, and supports them to participate, engage, and integrate into the community. A community guide or community engagement provider will:
- Meet with you to discuss goals stated in the Person-Centered service plan and help you develop specific goals related to engaging with the community.
- Develop strategies with you to connect with community resources, based on your interests and needs.
- Help you develop healthy relationships with local community members.
- Support you with participating community activities within you budget.
Peer mentoring
Offers a form of mentorship that takes place between a person who is living through the experiences of having a developmental disability or a family member of a person who has a developmental disability (peer mentor) and a person who is new to the experience (peer mentee). These services help individuals or family members through:
- Mentoring.
- Sharing personal experiences to provide support.
- Sharing information about community resources.
- Exploring other supports.
Specialized Goods and Services
Provides participants and their families with specialized supports to achieve stabilization in their home and community and may include:
- Vehicle modifications or adaptations required to fit the needs of the participant to engage with their community.
- Therapeutic equipment and supplies necessary to implement a behavioral support plan or other therapeutic plan including sensory integration or communication therapy plan.
- Nonrestrictive clothing adaptive to the participant's individual needs and related to his/her disability.
- Purchasing or leasing, and customizing or adapting assistive technology to meet the functional needs of a child with a disability.

Provides support for behavioral challenges to families who are caring for children with developmental disabilities, ages 3-17. Services include family counseling, family preservation and connections to other service providers.
Works with families raising children with developmental disabilities. Helps families improve coping with everyday stressors as well as to develop strategies to address more complicated behavioral and emotional issues.

- Eight to 12 weeks of in-home services

Plans, funds and manages programs for children birth to three years who are experiencing developmental delays, and adults 21 and over, who have developmental disabilities.
Plans, funds and manages early intervention programs for qualified children. Services to qualified adults include: personal agents, financial planning and employment services. Provides information and training to vendors, families, individuals experiencing disabilities, community partners and the public.

Supported Living Services (SLS) Program offered at Puget Sound Regional Services
Provides in-home support and daily living skills training for people with developmental disabilities. Some clients can receive 24 hour support.
Provides Supported Living Services (SLS) for persons with mild to severe developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Clients receive in-home assistance including daily living skills training, transportation and assistance with all personal and community needs.
Staff members remain in client's home for up to 24 hours a day depending on the client's support needs (rotating staff - they do not live with the clients).
Also specializes in supporting individuals who have deafness and blindness in conjunction with other developmental disabilities, with a staff team that includes over 25 employees who are deaf.
