Regulates businesses that create or have the potential to create air pollution within King, Kitsap, Pierce or Snohomish counties: asbestos, composting, dry cleaning, gas stations, marijuana and mobile spray coaters.

Provides education and information about local and international environmental organizations and services through a website. Provides community-specific information on recycling, hazardous household waste, composting, conserving energy and improving air quality.

Property Owners/Residents of Benton County must notify the Benton Clean Air Agency of intent to remove asbestos and/or demolish a structure. There is a 10-day (10 working days) ADVANCED notification requirement for asbestos removal or demolition for facilities, residential has up to a 5 day wait period.

This is the environmental division of the county health department. They have information on safe drinking water, well water, septic tanks, hazardous waste and solid waste disposal, rodent control regulations, pet waste, water pollution, red tide information and much more. They also handle restaurant inspections, provide food handler's cards, and food safety questions as well as public swimming pool and spa information.

Environmental Health focuses on how the environment affects the health of the community and works to minimize the public's exposure to environmental hazards.  Services include: food borne illness reporting and investigating, harmful chemicals, biological agents, rabies questions, food safety, restaurant inspections, drinking water samples/testing, shellfish/biotoxin monitoring, septic permitting and inspections, water/recreation/pools testing.
