Coordinated Entry (CE) is a homeless crisis response system in Pierce County. It is intended to help people find permanent housing if they are currently experiencing homelessness or fleeing domestic violence.
Once screened, eligible households are scheduled for a housing conversation with one of the Coordinated Entry partners. The conversation will last approximately an hour. All adults in the household will need to participate.
After the conversation, the housing specialist can enroll the household in 30-day Diversion or 90-day Priority Pool.
Enrollment in CE offers the same housing referral benefits and assistance, no matter which agency enrolls the household.
Referrals through Coordinated Entry are only available through enrollment in Priority Pool. The likelihood of getting a referral depends on the availability of housing and benefits as well as the number and kind of housing barriers a household may face. Examples of barriers include recent criminal history, evictions, medical conditions, and lack of income.
After 90 days, enrollment in Coordinated Entry expires. A household can call to get screened and enrolled again.
Households enrolled in 30-day Diversion program with Access Pierce receive light-touch case management services. These can include things like help budgeting, connection to education, employment, transportation or other needed services, help accessing documentation or filling out forms.
