Operates a fully functioning, accredited sleep disorder clinic with 3 locations serving pediatric and adult populations. Treats a variety of sleep disorders, including insomnia, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), snoring, sleepwalking, night terrors, nightmare disorder, and narcolepsy to name a few. It is the only facility in the Greater Columbia region offering pediatric sleep medicine. Has specialized staff including a board certified sleep doctor, 2 certified Clinical Sleep Educators and 6 Registered Polysomnography Technologists. Obstructive sleep apnea is a common sleep breathing disorder where the tissue surrounding the airway may collapse and block airflow. The most common treatment for OSA is CPAP therapy. A machine and mask system which stents the airway using a continuous stream of room air to prevent blockage. Works closely with the patient in guiding them to successful treatment of OSA. Also works closely with specialists including ENT's, dentists and sleep surgeons to insure the patients have the best and most qualified people available to help them explore treatment options. Improved sleep quality is proven to have positive outcomes in in physical health and disease prevention and management. This includes but is not limited to high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. Good sleep is also crucial to whole-person health and has positive outcomes in regards to psychological and mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Improving sleep quality can also be useful in managing symptoms of ADD/ADHD in children and adults.
