Eligibility
No restrictions for pet licenses. King County pet licenses are required for all dogs and cats 12 weeks of age or older in most areas of the county. All dogs and cats twelve weeks old and older owned by Kirkland residents must be licensed and vaccinated against rabies. For senior/disabled discount: - Pet owner must be age 65 or older or have a documented disability. - Pet must be altered. For service animals: - Owner must have a documented disability and statement that animal is a service animal. - Pet must be altered. - A service animal is any animal that is trained or being trained to aid a person who is blind, hearing impaired, or otherwise disabled and is used for that purpose and is registered with a recognized service animal organization.
