Employment Training and Support for the Disabled offered at Lillie Rice Center, Inc
Provides vocational rehabilitation, and support services that will help disabled, or vocationally handicapped individuals have the opportunity of acquiring the specific skills and behaviors needed to achieve an optimal level of development, employability, and community access. Employment Planning Services - The services provided are individualized and focused on preparing for, securing and maintaining employment opportunities for persons with a variety of disabilities and other barriers to employment. Individual Supported Employment - These services are part of an individual's pathway to employment and are tailored to individual needs, interests, and abilities to promote career development. Competitive Planning Services - Designed for individuals who already have specific skills and some previous work history. Participants referred for this service may need assistance in resume development, interviewing techniques and job development activities. Group Supported Employment Services - Designed for high school students between the ages of 17 and 21 who are receiving educational services under an Individual Education Plan (IEP). These students are moving toward the promising but challenging day when they will leave high school and step into the world of work. Community Access Services - Individualized services provided in typical integrated community settings for individuals in retirement. Services will promote individualized skill development, independent living and community integration for persons' to learn how to actively and independently engage in their local community. Community Information & Education - Inform and/or educate the general public about developmental disabilities and related services. These may include information and referral services; activities aimed at promoting public awareness and involvement; and community consultation, capacity building and organization activities. Partnership Projects - Collaborative partnerships with school districts, employment providers, DVR, families, employers and other community collaborators needed to provide the employment support and services young adults with developmental disabilities require to transition to employment during the school year they turn twenty-one (21).

Provides early intervention, vocational rehabilitation, and support services that will enable infants and toddlers at risk, disabled and/or vocationally handicapped persons to have the opportunity of acquiring the specific skills and behaviors needed to achieve an optimal level of development, employability, and community access. Lillie Rice Center, Inc. is also the sponsoring agency for Parent to Parent of Walla Walla and Columbia Counties. Parent to Parent Programs provide emotional support and information to families of children and adults with special needs and/or disabilities.
