ABCD Program offered at Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department
Helps children ages birth - 5 that have Apple Health (Medicaid), access dental services in Pierce County. Assists families in finding a dentist trained to work with small children in a private office or clinic that accepts Apple Health (Medicaid). Children enrolled in the program receive dental check-ups twice a year, fluoride treatments three times a year, and family education twice a year. Most dental services are provided, as needed.

Offers public health services for individuals, communities, and businesses, including: - water, restaurant, waste disposal, and septic system inspection; - monitoring and responding to outbreaks of communicable diseases, including TB, Hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and others; - substance abuse counseling, - health counseling for prenatal clients and parents of children in the home; - health education and general health information and referral.
