Bigs - Snohomish County Mentors offered at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County offers two mentoring programs: community based and school based. The community based mentoring program connects adult volunteers (Bigs) with children (Little) ages 6 to 14 from single parent families. The volunteer and child meet in a variety of locations (i.e. movie theater, park, zoo) depending upon their interests. The "Bigs" see their "Littles" 2-4 times a month for 2-4 hours per outing. The school based mentoring program brings volunteers to the classroom to develop mentoring relationships with boys and girls during the academic year. The matches meet once a week for one hour during the school day on school grounds.

Eligibility
To become a Big with our agency, an individual must work or live in Snohomish County, pass a criminal background check, provide 3 references, be stable, and dependable. Mentors in our school based program must be at least 18 years of age. Mentors in our community based program must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and have an insured vehicle.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County is a prevention-focused youth mentoring organization that creates and monitors safe, nurturing relationships between caring adult volunteers and children between the ages of 6 and 18. Our service is an effective combination of informal friendship and mentoring, backed by superb professional screening, training, and supervision. There is no charge to the children or families who receive services from our agency.
