SHUTTLE for People with Disabilities offered at Pierce Transit
SHUTTLE is a shared-ride service for people who, because of their disability, are unable to ride a regular Pierce Transit bus. Provides door-to-door service, or, in some instances, transportation to Transit Centers to connect with regular bus service.

SHUTTLE office: M-F, 8am-5pm. Transit Service: same as regular bus service hours.
Application process
Call (253) 581-8000 option 1, option 2 to request an application. Fill out the application and explain the limitations caused by the disability. Provide contact information for all relevant treatment providers on the release of information. The certification process may take up to 21 days after Pierce Transit receives the necessary information for making a decision Pierce Transit may also ask that the rider take part in an in-person functional assessment, at Pierce Transit's expense. Once the process is complete, there will be an eligibility determination letter sent to the rider. For those already registered, call the customer service line to schedule a trip (253) 581-8000 and follow the prompts. Trip can be planned 1 to 5 days in advance. Office hours are limited to 8am-5pm daily.
Fee
$1.75 per trip.
Eligibility
Those who qualify for SHUTTLE service must meet one of the following conditions: 1. Are functionally unable to get on or off a transit bus, even with use of a wheelchair lift OR 2. Are physically unable to get to or from a regular Pierce Transit bus stop OR 3. Are unable to understand and follow transit directions or understand information signs for reasons other than inability to speak/read the English language.
