Rapid Rehousing DV offered at Exodus Housing
Rapid Rehousing DV offered at Exodus Housing
Referrals are taken from Coordinated Entry ONLY. Serves low-income households who are actively fleeing, or attempting to flee from domestic violence, and who have gone through the Coordinated Entry process. Provides access to permanent housing (rapid rehousing) and case management supportive services. Families are able to choose their own housing locations as long as they remain in Pierce County. Case Management services are designed to empower families to work towards independence and increase their self-sufficiency to retain their permanent housing and employment long-term. Families pay a portion of their income towards the rent and Exodus Housing subsidizes the rest. This continues on a monthly basis until the family is ready to exit. Case Managers (CM) help the families secure housing and then create a housing stability goal/budget plan that assists them with long-term stability. Families meet with their CM on a regular basis, who provides them with access to community resources, referrals and wrap around service coordination. The goal is that families will increase their income through employment tor other sources so that at some point they can exit and pay the full rent on their own.

Mission: Our mission is to serve diverse households fleeing domestic violence with equitable, client-centered services that are inclusive, foster long-term self-sufficiency and promote access to permanent housing and community resources. Exodus Housing serves low-income households who become homeless due to fleeing or attempting to flee from domestic violence. We provide them with access to permanent housing, monthly rental assistance and ongoing case management supportive services. Our services are designed to help families obtain access to permanent housing and increase their ability to increase stability and self-sufficiency in order to retain housing long-term. Our Case Managers meet with families as needed to connect them with resources and referrals that help them gain the skills for long term stability such as employment, education, job training, credit repair and so forth. They also set monthly goals and a budget, as well as review progress made on a quarterly basis. Families chose where they want to live as long as they stay in Pierce County. They make the first contact with the property manager and then our Case Managers act as the liaison between the client and the property manager/owner to negotiate the terms of the lease. Our agency provides financial assistance with the move-in costs such as the deposits, first/last month's rent and application fees. Families pay a portion of their income towards the rent and then we subsidize the rest, which continues monthly until the family no longer needs our services and is ready to exit the program and pay the full rent on their own.
