Issues regulatory licenses and administers City regulations and inspections intended to protect public safety and consumers and to enhance the quality of life for Seattle residents, businesses and visitors. The Division handles licensing and compliance functions for a wide variety of commercial activity regulated by the Seattle Municipal Code or other government agencies. Regulated industries include taxis, for hire vehicles, transportation network companies and limousines, towing, marijuana production and retail, adult entertainment, short term rentals, weights and measures regulations and price scanning inspections.
