Women, Infants, and Children Supplemental Nutrition Program (WIC) offered by Sea Mar Community Health Center at Maternity Support Services/WIC and Nutrition Education Vancouver

WIC helps to improve positive health habits by providing nutrition education (individual counseling and group classes), breastfeeding promotion and support, breast pumps (specific circumstances), monthly vouchers for supplemental, specifically prescribed nutritious foods, as well as, information and referral to other health programs like immunization, dental, and social service programs. Benefits are provided by check or card.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet four criteria to be eligible for WIC: - Reside in Washington (US citizenship is NOT required to participate in WIC) - Be a pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding woman, or have an infant or child under 5 years old - Household income less than 185% of the federal poverty level - Have a nutritional risk (assessed at time of appointment) Anyone with a child under the age of 5 can apply for WIC, including fathers, foster parents or other guardians. United States citizenship is not required to participate in the WIC program.
