Strengthening Neighborhoods offered at Rebuilding Together South Sound
Focuses on providing a community resource fair, as well as home repair projects and the opportunity for a neighborhood in a beautification project all while celebrating what's best about each neighborhood. Primary focus through 2026 are the Monta Vista, Lakeview, Springbrook, and Tillicum-Woodbrook neighborhoods of Lakewood. Beautification projects are only offered in the targeted neighborhood. Classes and resource events are open to all residents. Strengthening Neighborhoods Program is about residents and volunteers strengthening neighborhoods.

Rebuilding Together South Sound
Provides free critical home repairs and modifications for low-income homeowners who are seniors, live with a disability, or have children in the home. Clients live anywhere in Pierce County as well as the cities of Federal Way and Auburn. Vision is safe homes and communities for everyone and we do this by repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives. Repairs are provided through three programs, National Rebuilding Day, Safe at Home, and Rebuilding a Healthy Neighborhood. Repairs are focused on home safety, accessibility, and maintenance. To be eligible for our programs a person must: • Own the home they live in • Be within the service area (anywhere in Pierce County and cities of Federal Way and Auburn) • Be up to date on property taxes and any mortgage payments • Be low-income (50% gross AMI based on household size) • Have someone in the home who is a senior, living with a disability, or a child under the age of 18.
