Eligible low-income customers may buy scrip at a 50% discount to use for taxi rides. Customers can buy up to eight $10 books of taxi scrip each month for $5 each. Taxi scrip is currently accepted by A1 Taxi, Farwest Taxi, and Yellow Cab. If accepted, rider pays meter fare with scrip.

Application process
Call for taxi scrip application and Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) application, if both are needed. If already have RRFP, taxi scrip application can be completed by mail or in person. Income is self-reported for taxi scrip; no documentation needed. Confirm acceptance of scrip with dispatch when booking. Documents required: If an RRFP is needed, the RRFP for those ages 65 and older requires only proof of age and can be issued by mail or at myorca.com. RRFP for those ages 18 to 64 with a disability requires a photo be taken in person at the King Street Center Customer Pass Sales Office, The application requires identification and proof of disability, which may require a doctor's signature.

Taxi Scrip - no fee to apply; taxi scrip costs $5 for each $10 book of scrip. Regional Reduced Fare Permit, if needed, is free to issue.
Eligibility
King County residents ages 18 to 64 with a qualifying disability or those ages 65 and older. All applicants must be eligible for and already have a Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) from King County Metro Transit. For Taxi Scrip, total income must be less than $3,689 per month for a one-person household. Income criteria increases based on household size.1AN

Provides low-floor ramp-equipped or lift-equipped regular bus and rail service, plus Access Transportation van services for qualifying individuals with disabilities who can't ride the accessible regular public transit system. Free transit instruction available for seniors and people with disabilities who wish to learn how to use the accessible regular public transit system. Discount Taxi Scrip program for low-income adults with disabilities and/or low-income seniors who live in King County and obtain a current ORCA Regional Reduced Fare Permit.
