Child Care Assistance Program offered by City of Seattle's Department of Education and Early Learning
Provides a subsidy of 25 to 70% of the city's average child care cost for eligible parents who are employed or working towards their first degree. CCAP covers partial cost of child care paid directly to the City of Seattle contracted child care home and center providers. Eligible families will be authorized for 12 month vouchers.

Application process
Families are pre-screened over the phone or email. Questions asked during screening include gross monthly family income, family size, name, address and phone number. If guidelines are met, family will be sent application and assigned a Parent Intake Representative (PIR) to help them through the application process.
Fee
Amount of the payment from the city of Seattle varies according to family income, size and the child's age. Family is responsible for paying the difference between the child care program's usual fee and the amount that the city of Seattle subsidizes. .
Eligibility
Clients must: - Live within Seattle city limits. - Be employed or enrolled in an educational program. - Fall within 200. 1-350% Federal Poverty Level. - Be ineligible for DCYF Working Connections Child Care - Have children ages birth to 13 years. (For working parents with income less than minimum guidelines for CCAP may apply for Working Connections Child Care at www.washingtonconnections.org. )

Provides early childhood literacy and school readiness program through home visits for parents with toddlers. Offers part-time preschool for low-income Seattle parents of preschool-age children at select sites. Helps prepare low-income or first-generation Seattle high school youth for post-secondary education through academic instruction and tutoring, academic and personal counseling, leadership development, career planning, college application assistance, financial aid workshops and field trips
