Representative Payee Program offered at Volunteers of America Western WA - Personal Support Services

The Representative Payee Program is a service that helps clients budget Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits. Through this program, local service providers will work with the client to budget their benefits to help them pay for food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. Benefits of the program include learning how to set up a monthly budget, setting up a savings account, and gaining control of finances.

Eligibility

Receiving Social Security (SSA) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits; Having trouble or unable to budget benefits to pay bills, rent, clothing, etc.; Currently homeless or formerly homeless and now living in permanent housing; An adult, youth (age18-24), and families with children experiencing homelessness.

Personal Support Services operates 4 programs within this department: 1. In home Supported Living Services: provides in-home supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; 2. Meaningful Day Program: Adult Day Program services for individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability. Individuals served are typically supported by the state CORE or Basic Plus Waivers and Respite. Private pay options are also available; Representative-Payee Program: assist individuals with money management and financial tracking. Designed for individuals receiving SSA/SSI/SSDI or VA; 4. FCS- Supported Housing and Employment Services: Assists individuals with finding stable housing and employment services. There are requirements to be qualified for this program.
