Skagit Gleaners offered at Skagit Gleaners

Skagit Gleaners is a food recovery and rescue program that provides reclaimed groceries and clothing/household items to our membership base. Those who use our services provide 3.5 hours of volunteer time to our organization and contribute a shared nominal donation towards our operation. We also provide a free public food distribution for those who cannot participate in our cooperative model. Our free public food distribution is offered every Saturday from 3:30-6:30pm.

M W F, 9am-12:30pm Tu Th, 3-6:30pm Sa Su, 9-11:30am. Public Food Distribution: Saturday, 3:30pm - 6:30pm. Doors open at 3pm.

Fee

Varies based on membership model. Public distribution is free.

Eligibility

Our cooperative membership program is open for anyone who can contribute a nominal shared donation and provide 3.5 hours of volunteer time monthly. Our free public distribution is offered to anyone that self-declares as low-income (400% below the federal poverty line).

Skagit Gleaners is a member-cooperative organization that provides recovered food and clothing to low-income, frugal, and working families. Our purpose is to keep food waste out of overflowing landfills while building a community-led food system. Our programs include a member based food distribution, thrift store, hand-harvesting activities, a public (free) food distribution, and a community-led garden.
