Congregate Meal Program offered at Black Diamond Community Center

Provides congregate hot lunch program and support services to older adults.   Support services sometimes include: -  Nutrition education -  Counseling -  Recreational activities    Past topics have included:   - Consumer protection - Arthritis - Nutrition   Also provides some entertainment, usually musical.

Tu Th, 11am-1pm. Please arrive early for seating.

Application process

Call or visit in person. Calling ahead for lunch is recommended.

Eligibility

Adults ages 60 and older.

Fee

$4.50 suggested contribution for ages 60 and older.   $6.50 fee for others.    No seniors are turned away due to inability to pay.

Black Diamond Community Center

Multiservice community center provides a variety of programs for all ages. Services include a before- and after-school program at Black Diamond Elementary. Offers a hot meal, health programs and activities for seniors. Operates an emergency food pantry that includes food for pets. Also provides emergency assistance for gas and electric utilities and eviction prevention as well as clothing, blankets and gas vouchers. Coordinates a one-day school supplies event each year.
