Benton County Emergency Management (BCES) is a division of Benton County Emergency Services. BCEM works to minimize the impact of disasters on the people, property, economy, and environment of Benton County through comprehensive disaster planning, preparedness education, training, and resource coordination. BCEM prepares for and responds to both natural and man-made disasters. Natural hazards in our area include floods, wildfires, and ice storms. BCEM planners also prepare for emergencies at the Hanford Nuclear Site and Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station.

Benton County Emergency Services (BCES) provides emergency services for residents of Benton and Franklin Counties. Benton County Emergency Management (BCEM) is one division of BCES; the other is Southeast Communications (SECOMM). BCEM provides emergency management for all of Benton County to minimize the impact of disasters on the people, property, economy, and environment of Benton County, thereby enhancing the safety of all Benton County Residents. SECOMM is the 911 center for Benton and Franklin Counties in Eastern Washington. Dispatch service is provided to all law enforcement, fire/EMS, and emergency response agencies within both counties, along with Walla Walla Fire District #5 in Walla Walla County.
